Camilla Wellton
Hello darling. My name is Camilla Wellton.
I’m a designer and creator, a sci-fi lover, and a yoga teacher who has practised for more than thirty years. I’m also a mother, a lover and a human with a passion for living in ways that make me fall in love with being myself, again and again.
The inner world I protected
For most of my life, I lived from a rich but fiercely private inner world. I wasn’t performing for anyone. I was protecting myself.
I knew beauty, vision and depth from within, yet early imprinting taught me to distrust closeness and avoid intimacy. I wanted more connection, but I could not yet believe I could have it without losing myself.
The fork
When an investor deal for my fashion brand fell through, I found myself at a fork. I could work harder, control more and become sharper—or make room for fun and play.
I chose play.
I danced barefoot through nights of underground techno and minimal deep house. I began producing music as Gyndroid. I studied Shibari every week with Andy Buru because I wanted to understand both giving and receiving. I created We Got Cookies, a sensual fashion, lifestyle and leather-accessories brand, and opened more of my life to intimacy, play and connection.
During that time, I understood something essential for me: the aliveness in me did not need to be controlled. People were not only a danger to guard against. They could also be the bridge.
My son, and a deepening
Then my son arrived.
His birth felt like a sacred interruption—a deepening of existence. He brought the future into my body and made it holy.
Motherhood sharpened my desire to love being here in the flesh and to savour the senses.
Bringing the body into the map
The maps of psyche and myth associated with Jung and Joseph Campbell became part of my thinking. I wanted to bring the body into the map and ask what changes when the symbolic world is given a nervous system.
This is the territory where science meets personal myth, and biology meets purposeful sensual imagination. I am interested in the moment an idea stops being theory and begins breathing in lived experience.
A return
The I AWAKE books gather what I have learned and lived through the raw, sensual, creative and magical journey of being human.
For me, awakening is not a departure from the body. It is a return: to the self, the senses, the shared, and the possibility of enjoying ourselves together while we are here.
I no longer want to choose between solitude and connection. I live in the place where they kiss.
What I offer
The I AWAKE universe is not only a system of methods. It is how I offer what I have learned about moving from distance towards connection, and from self-protection towards sovereign sensual and creative presence.
The Sensual Hero’s Journey™ is part of that offering: a way of bringing ideas into the body, the imagination and ordinary life.
