The Almost

Source status: book-authored SHJ term in Living on Love Crumbs.

The Almost is contact that is real enough to revive hope and incomplete enough to leave the underlying hunger in place.

It may be warmth after distance, an apology without repair, praise after chronic overwork or a beautiful encounter that does not become dependable relationship. The term does not decide whether another person cares. It helps the reader notice what the contact supplies, what it does not and what happens next.

Different from: possibility. Possibility opens another way. The Almost keeps possibility suspended around a supply that has not become enough.
