Possibility is the felt availability of another way.
It is not optimism pasted over pain. In the first realm, possibility emerges as adaptation, emotional hunger and the repeating past become visible enough that they no longer have to define every future response.
Different from: certainty. A possibility can matter before the reader knows whether or how it will become real.
