Self-intimacy

Self-intimacy is an ongoing relationship with one’s own inner life.

It includes knowing and being willing to remain near what is known: appetite, contradiction, body signal, grief, pleasure, fear, desire and the parts that do not arrive in clean language.

It is not perfect self-knowledge. Intimacy leaves room for surprise.
