Self-contact

Self-contact is the experience of remaining in relationship with your own sensation, feeling, thought, preference or truth.

It may be brief. A breath before yes. The recognition that you do not know. A quiet awareness that you left the room inwardly and would like to come back.

Different from: self-focus. Self-contact does not require excluding other people. It helps contact with others happen without automatic self-erasure.
