Contact is the experience of something reaching you while you remain sufficiently present to register it.
It may be contact with your own sensation, another person, a truth, a place, a piece of music or the fact that you want something different.
Contact is not always pleasant. A clear no is contact. So is grief, relief or the recognition that affection has been partial.
Different from: proximity. Someone can be close without being in contact, and far away while a real moment of contact remains available.
