The Fourth Signal is choice inside pleasure.
It can pause, continue, adjust, ask, stop or receive while keeping relationship with the experience alive. In the book, it is distinguished from control: control tries to force or prevent an outcome; choice remains responsive while pleasure is happening.
Different from: The Four Questions. The Four Questions are repeated reflective prompts. The Fourth Signal names choice as part of the book’s working map of pleasure.
